Flags for Eagle Scouts

Return to Eagle Tips List

The council office is contacted quite often requesting information on where to purchase a US or state flag for a new Eagle Scout. There are several options available for Scout families or leaders to purchase a local state flag or a national flag.

Minnesota:

Contact the Capitol Book Store at 651-297-3000. There are several options for flag materials and prices. You can request a certificate of authenticity for a date the flag was flown over the State Capitol. Prices range from $42 (nylon 3x5) to $67 (polyester 3x5).

Flag cases

Minnesota's Capitol Bookstore (see above) has partnered with the Minnesota Veterans Home in Hastings to provide handcrafted display cases for state or US flags. Available in oak or walnut, these cases are handmade by veterans. Please call the Bookstore for additional information.

Wisconsin:

Contact Bob Nenno in the Office of the Governor at 608-266-1212 or bob. nenno@wLgov for information about flags.

Washington DC:

For a flag flown over tpe nation's capitol, contact either a national senator (Franken or Klobuchar for Minnesota; Kohl or Johnson for Wisconsin) or a Representative from your congressional district. Prices vary depending on size and material. Search their website for this information and details on how to purchase the flag and request a date to be flown.
