Corn Feed

Join us for the first of many Roundtables for the upcoming  program year. This month is a special date, special time and special program. We are kicking off the new scouting year into high gear! Enjoy locally grown Corn, some Hot Dogs and share stories of your scouting summer.

After the meal, we will be presenting this year's recruitment program. Our District faces many challenges in recruiting new Scouts. Every unit needs to work hard to recruit youth for the scouting program. Come and see the tools available to you for this important function.

The Northern Lights Annual Corn Feed will be held:

Thursday, August 9th
Faith Lilac Lutheran Church
5530 42nd Ave North
Robbinsdale MN 55422
(42nd Avenue and Welcome Ave).

As usual it will be a great time to get together with many of our district's unit leadership. The roundtable staff will be hosting a short program and there will be plenty of corn and hotdogs to eat.

Fellowship will begin at 6:00 p.m., with a meal of hot dogs and corn on the cob at a cost of only $5 per person (attendance of the dinner is optional). All volunteers are welcome! The training session will begin at 7:00 p.m. and is free of charge. If you have multiple people from your unit that would like to attend this training, by all means share this information with them; the more people that are trained, the more successful your recruitment night will be.

Fall Youth Round-Up (FYR)training requires all of our Cub Scout Packs to come prepared with these three things: The date of your Pack's recruitment night, which schools you plan to recruit from and when their open houses are, and finally all the information you need to place flyer orders that night.

For Cub Scout Packs, your pack representative will learn what a School Night looks like, and how to host a successful recruitment event.

For Boy Scout Troops and Venture Crews, fall is a great time to recruit! Your representative will learn how to host a successful recruitment event by experiencing a mock Open House.
