Roundtables

Roundtables are for all adult leaders in Cub Scout Packs and Boy Scout Troops. They are held the first Thursday of every month at 7:30 p.m. at the LDS church on the corner of 86th and Noble. Roundtables are a training session for leaders to help them each month in working with the boys. Every pack and troop should have at least one representative come to these meetings to get ideas and share ideas with other leaders, as well as get information on events that are happening on a district level.

Cancel Roundtable

As you guys were aware, the Northern Lights District did not have their March Roundtable due to our March Madness. I mean the madness like the snow storm that came and went through the State of Minnesota. I hoped everyone enjoyed this storm besides the long cars waits and things of that nature. If anyone has pictures to show during this winter storm, feel free to send them to Johnny Allen Jr at the Council office. The address is 5300 Glenwood Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55422. Oh yea, LET SNOW, LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW!!!

Friends of Scouting

The 2007 Friends of Scouting campaign is still going strong. We are halfway to our district goal of $96,000. If you have any questions, concerns, or kudos, please do so by sending your request in.

Spring Camporee is Replace!!!

We as the Northern Lights district will not be hosting a Spring Camporee. Instead we will enjoy the luxuries of the Ripley Rendezvous. What is this event you ask of? Well the Ripley Rendezvous is an Area-Wide Jamboree for the Boy Scouts, Venturers, and Explorers. It is hosted by the Central Minnesota Council at Camp Ripley in Northern Minnesota. Scouts from Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Iowa will be represented at this event. Can Webelos have fun too? The answer is boys who are currently Webelos in the 5th Grade who will transition into Boy Scouts Troop as of June 1, 2007 are able to participate as Boy Scouts at this event. When is it? The event begin June 1st and ends on the 3rd of June. Are there going to be a lot of scouts and volunteers? Camp Ripley is projected attendance of approximately 12,000.
