Late in the summer of 2008, the board of directors of Northern Star Council stated that if sufficient funds to achieve unfunded development plans at other properties are not raised, that Rum River Scout Camp will be sold and replaced with alternative facilities in the Anoka County area. Ranger Bob has asked us to compile a history of the camp to document its past and perpetuate the fact it existed.

The Northern Lights Chapter of the Order of the Arrow has agreed to co ordinate this project.

First:

A memory album to remember all of the great times that were had at Rum River Camp and of the people who made them happen. We would like anyone, young and old, to share their thoughts about Rum River Scout Camp.   We have already received a few recollections.  Our goal is to gather enough input to publish a hard copy volume for the future.  Suggested entries are; First visit to camp, Most memorable experience at camp, What camp has meant to you.

Second:

We are compiling a Power Point slide show to document and display the camp throughout its history.  We have plenty of current pictures.  What we are really searching for now is dated information, history.  We need facts and dates to verify the camps development and any pictures that could show the growth, progress and activity at camp.  We think we know many of the answers but want to be sure they are correct and accurate before we publish.

• Rangers and Dates
• Programs and dates held at camp such as: Council Cub Day Camp, Fun with Son, District Activities, Training Events, etc
