Boy Scout Adult Leader Training
Every Boy Deserves A Trained Adult Leader
To be considered a Trained Leader, an adult
needs to complete the following:
1.
Boy Scout Leader Fast Start Training –
available online at
http://training.nsbsa.org/
2.
Youth Protection Training – available online
at http://training.nsbsa.org/
3.
New Leader Essentials – offered at select
Roundtables and other training
opportunities.
4.
Position Specific Training: There are
sessions for Scoutmasters and Asst.
Scoutmasters, as well as Committee Members.
Our District Boy Scout Leader Training will
cover both positions – come to the ones you
need. (Committee Members are welcome to take
the other training as well).
Northern Lights District Boy Scout Leader
Training Schedule – Fall 2008
Scoutmaster/Asst. Scoutmaster Sessions:
September 24th, October 1st and 8th
Committee Member Session: October 15
Outdoor Training: October 19-21
Classroom Sessions will be held at Redeemer
Lutheran Church, located at the intersection
of Hwy. 100 and 42nd Ave. in
Robbinsdale. Sessions will begin at 6:30 PM.
The Outdoor Training will be held at Rum
River Scout Camp. Details will be given
during the classroom sessions.

Cub Scout Adult Leader
Training

3.
New Leader Essentials – offered at select
Roundtables and other training
opportunities.
4.
Position Specific Training: At Cub Leader
Training we will have breakouts for
Cubmasters, Den Leaders, Webelos Leaders and
Committee Members. Even if you were trained
for a past position you need to attend the
breakout for your current position to be
considered a Trained Leader. This free training is supported
in part by your Friends of Scouting
donations.
General
Descriptions
New Leader
Essentials - All leaders that are not
trained must attend this training before
moving on to the specific training for their
position. It is imperative that you get the
best training possible. See below for
training dates and time.
Youth
Protection Training - This training is
for any adult that will be, or is currently
working with the youth in the program. This
includes both Cub Scout, Boy Scout and
Venturing programs. If you are planning to
camp with your unit, this course is highly
recommended. Parents that assist with the
camping program should be encouraged to
attend. See below for training dates and
time.
